Technology, when properly used, can be an asset in the classroom. Improperly used, it can actually be a hindrance. As we gain access to technologies such as the Android Tablet, we must learn to use them in a responsible manner in the classroom. Doing so will give teachers and students a powerful tool that can quickly expand the learning experience for everyone.

Technology developers should consider their role in the education field during the development process. While many new technologies such as the Android Tablet were created with the business world in mind, additional applications have been created to easily integrate tablet technology into the classroom. For example, tablet computers can be used as eBook readers. This gives students easy access to reading materials. Now in its infancy, electronic libraries are a perfect example of responsible technology in the education world.

Consider, for example, the impact tablet computing can have on the world of online learning. While more and more colleges are offering electronic classes, tablet computers can be used to allow greater flexibility for the student. It is important for developers to recognize that Android Tablet users will need access to website and educational materials that have been optimized for tablet users.

It is only by understanding the impact of technology in education that technology can begin to harvest the power it has. Designing applications and websites that are suited toward the Android Tablet will make education a more intuitive and flexible process and one in which more people will be able to participate.
